Disparbud: Stadium Closing Should Be A Warning

The license revocation of Stadium Discotheque on Jalan Mangga Besar, West Jakarta should be a warning for other nightclubs in the city. Moreover, City Tourism and Culture Department (Disparbud) will improve its supervision to drug trafficking in city nightclubs.

This is a lesson for other nightclubs. We have given circular letters to discotheques

Head of City Tourism and Culture Department, Arie Budhiman, revealed to have closed three discotheques because of drug case. It proves that the city government is not messing around in disciplining recalcitrant nightclubs. “This is a lesson for other nightclubs. We have given circular letter to discotheques,” explained Budhiman, Tuesday (5/20).

There are 34 discotheques in the city. Since 1995, the city government has not release any permit for discotheque. For Stadium discotheque revocation, Budhiman has gotten approval from Jakarta Vice Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama.

Basuki Pleased Stadium Discotheque Closed Down

“We also have commitment that the nightclubs should be free from drug, and Stadium closing has been approved by Vice Governor to be frozen,” Budhiman stated.

He also added that the Stadium Discotheque closing will not affect on City Revenue. Along this time, City Tourism and Culture Department depends on hotel, tourism and entertainment tax for the City Revenue. Moreover, the tourism industry in the capital city is growing.
